Getting To The Source Of Chronic Disease
It’s the concensus of many natural health practitioners that bowel problems and surgeries are avoidable through nutrition and that chronic diseases originating in the bowel can be prevented with a diet tuned to the electrical communications of your electrical body.
Dr. Denis P. Burkitt, a renowned English surgeon remarked, when addressing 200 U.S. physicians, that issues involving obesity, diabetes, hiatus hernia, appendicitis, diverticulosis, colitis, polyps and cancer of the colon are virtually unheard of among rural East Africans.
The rural East African diet is high in fresh fruit, vegetables and coarsely ground cereal grains. The intact rough brain from the grain absorbs water, increases the bulk of bowel wastes and speeds up elimination time, aiding a healthy bowel. It’s no wonder that Western countries have just the opposite situation.
Conspicuously absent in the rural East African diet are white flour, white sugar and refined carbohydrates, not only common in Western culture but in the urban areas of Africa.
Interestingly, research from cancer studies at the University of San Francisco indicates that a toxic colon and constipation are linked to the appearance of abnormal cells elsewhere in the body. For, remember, the body is a closed system. What affects one cell and system will affect another.
Proper bowel care through correct nutrition is the key to preventing much disease and surgery - whether in the digestion and elimination areas of the body or otherwise.
Overconsumption of refined carbohydrates is believed to be responsible for arteriosclerosis and diabetes, while absence of sufficient fiber content allows increased pressure changes in the bowel which lead to colon diseases as well as growth of bacteria which again alters bowel chemistry and invites ulcerative colitis, polyps and colon cancer, among other things.
“Civilization” diseases are directly linked to low bulk in the diet and excessive ingestion of white white and sugar. For example, bowel transit time for a Bantu native is more than twice as fast as that of the average Englishman or American. The length of time food wastes remain in the bowel determines how putrefactive they get, how much the undesirable bacteria proliferate, how much fat is absorbed through the bowel wall and what sort of chemical poisons develop in the passage through the intestinal area. African natives who move to cities for work tend to change their diets and get more diseases because of it.
In fact, it was Dr. Jensen’s lifelong conclusion that people in this society and culture are all suffering from some kind of digestive or eliminative malfunction and it is epidemic in proportion. The fix is to defy life-robbing habits and foods and learn new and better ways of living.
The bottom line: if tissues are to remain electrically alive and well they need to be fed sufficiently and have their cell wastes disposed of promptly. It is significant that surgeons and physicians are beginning to understand the importance of bowel care in the prevention of disease. We cannot have a healthy body without clean blood, and we cannot have clean blood unless we have a clean bowel with good tone to move wastes along it’s muscled walls.
