Jumpstart Weight Loss With Active Grand Canyon Vacations
It’s been iterated that weight loss is a painstaking process… that it’s worse than going to work… that you should get paid for it, it’s so bad! Most people look at weight loss as a chore, something that HAS to be done. Most people would rather do just about anything than exercise specifically to lose weight. It’s laborious, uncomfortable, and inconvenient. Basically, it’s a miserable process that most people wouldn’t wish for their worst enemy. Yet they struggle with it, either actively or inactively, as they go to the gym or don’t and criticize themselves for not being there.
What if there’s a better way? What if it doesn’t have to be miserable? This article is a testament to the fact that weight loss is a problem because the focus is on the wrong thing. Nobody wants to lose weight. Nobody wants to have lower cholesterol. Nobody wants to go to the gym everyday or quit eating cheese. So focusing on those things will inevitably lead to burnout for all but the most obsessed - and I do mean obsessed. Most people who achieve with conventional weight loss systems are obsessed, and in some cases compulsive.
The good news is there is a healthy, productive, enjoyable way to shed the pounds. It doesn’t involve waking up early everyday. It doesn’t involve the total avoidance of cheese. It has to be enjoyable to work, which means it will be fun! It’s called “finding an activity you enjoy that involves strenuous activity, nature, and all-day or multi-day involvement.
I recommend either biking or hiking, and if your first response is “screw that!” then this article is specifically for you, because it’s that attitude that is your biggest obstacle. So stay with me. choose either hiking or biking - just choose one, whichever one you prefer more. Biking is less severe on your joints and feet, hiking is an all around more active sport, meaning it uses more of your body than biking.
Now sign up for a hiking or biking tour that is at least 3 months out. It could be a European road biking tour, a Colorado mountain biking vacation, a Grand Canyon rim-to-rim tour, or a Yellowstone adventure hike. Whatever it is, make it something that right now there’s no way you could do it. Find it, pay for it, book it. Then you’re committed.
Now it’s just a matter of training. Ride your bike, climb stairs, hike on the weekends, ride your bike to work… it doesn’t really matter. The point is that people follow their money, so once your money is out there, you’re likely to follow it. And, by the way, you have a awesome vacation awaiting you. Guided adventure tours are the future of the travel industry because of their combination of activity and luxury, beauty and exercise.
Enroll some friends or family to sign up with you, and you’re even more on your way! Don’t wait to jumpstart your weight loss vacation! You’ll enjoy it so much you’ll want to do another one and another one, and suddenly it has nothing to do with weight loss - it has to do with living a good life!
